Bevan Cellars makes this wine by picking and fermenting the grapes from a small parcel at Tench that is a little over an acre (1B South to be specific), some of the reddest dirt on the property. This block gives super-pure flavors and ripens at its own rate. The rootstock and clones are identical, the vineyard was prepared the same way. There is no obvious or not so obvious reason that they can find, it just has its own unique quality that is so special they like to bottle it by itself. The best way to describe it, is that this wine has incredible energy to it. It has the same power that the other Tench wines have, it just has a more energetic and lively personality.
