The Zocker Grüner Veltliner is round, steely and energetic, with great acid structure and pronounced minerality. It has bright aromas of lemon and lime on the nose, a strong white pepper note and flavors of ripe melon and fruit cocktail. Zesty and rich with fresh orange-peel, tangerine and light coconut. Grüner Veltliner, a rare varietal in the United States, is a unique food friendly white wine originating from Austria. Growing it in the Edna Valley was a gamble, but the coastal soils have cultivated a beautiful and dynamic Grüner that has been turning heads since Zocker's first vintage in 2009.
