Upon first impression the 2015 is brighter, with slightly more tannin and acidity as compared to previous vintages. The mouthfeel is silky smooth and luscious, and is full of dark fruit, cherry, plum and wet stone minerality. A dark finish offers swirling notes of semisweet chocolate, espresso, smoke and charred meat. Proper’s 2015 offering is distinctly from the winery’s estate Rocks District terroir, yet is a unique expression of what was an unusual but exciting growing season.
