The 2018 Gerard & Pierre Morin Sancerre Vieilles Vignes is picked from vines that are around 40 years old, mainly from chalky soils called “caillottes” with some deeper soils owning more clay called “terres blanches”. Fermentation in tanks and wine kept on lees for 6 months. There is a chalky sense of mineral impingement to the vibrantly zesty, invigorating, yet persistently succulent finish of this buoyant wine.
