The Cote-Rotie Classique is a fine and elegant wine revealing quite a strong tannin structure. It shows relatively complex aromas of black fruits, spices and violets. At its peak, the wine unveils flavors of undergrowth and grilled tobacco.
Try pairing with grilled meat, a leg of lamb or duck. The older wines can be served with game. To be original, a vintage with a softer taste can be savored with fresh water fish.
