Pietradonice is Casanova di Neri's entry into the Super Tuscan category. The name means "Stone of Onyx" and, indeed, the Pietradonice vineyard is in a former quarry for onyx, a vivid mineral used for jewelry and ornaments. The vineyard, located in the southeastern part of the commune of Montalcino, is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon rather than Sangiovese and demonstrates the high quality Neri and Montalcino are able to produce in this international grape variety.
