About the Wine
The vineyards for Palacio Quemado extend over 100Ha. surrounding the bodega. La Raya is sourced from a single parcel within the estate selected for its advanced age, orientation, and unique soils.
Once the wine is blended, ageing lasts 18 months in the fermentation vessel (50% concrete vat, 50% neutral foudre). The wine is bottled without fining or filtration, and is aged for 12 months in the bottle before release. La Raya is the Alvear family's Grand Cru expression of Extremadura Alentejana, where their work has been critical in resuscitating the cultivation and vinification of traditional Portuguese varieties in the southwest of the Iberian peninsula.
Blend: 90% Trincadeira, 10% Garnacha
