Dark ruby/purple color. The baker is initially reticent but soon boasts exotic aromas of warm spices, black cherry, orange peel, dense earth and piñon. The body is light on its feet while, built around a balance of succulent texture and brightness of acidity, making for easy and pleasurable drinking right away. At 12.9% alcohol, this wine’s complexity, depth and length are extraordinary, hinting to the Philo terroir and the site's tiny berries, something we find commonly on the ridges heading west towards Elk on the Mendocino Coast. Drink now and for 8 years.
