Copious aromas of red fruits, tobacco, damp earth, pencil lead, and cocoa first hit the nose. As time allows, layers of bay leaf, cigar box and floral hints accompany. In the mouth, the purity of the fruit and weight to the mid-palate lend to one needing another sip. Flavors of deep raspberry, cassis, graphite and cocoa are followed by soft, lush tannin. It has a persistence which lingers on the tongue.
